A team from Mzumbe University (MU), led by Prof. Eliza Mwakasangula, the Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academic, Research and Consultancy (DVC-ARC), participated in a three-day workshop on proposal writing.

The workshop, hosted by the University of Pretoria's Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences, took place from April 24th to 26th 2024.

The workshop brought together academics from Mzumbe University, the University of Ghana, the University of Leeds and the University of Pretoria. The group collaborated on a proposal titled "Sustainable Public Service: Postgraduate Study for the Next Generation of African Civil Servants."

The proposal, intended for the Mastercard Foundation's scholarship initiative aiming to fund 100,000 students by 2030, seeks to expand postgraduate education opportunities for African civil servants. The funding would support Master's and PhD students at all consortium institutions.

Mzumbe University's Dar es Salaam Campus College was involved in this collaborative effort, partnering with the Internationalization and Convocation Unit, the Quality Assurance Unit and the Directorate of Postgraduate, Research, and Publication.
